The Summer is for Reading!

Sammy Rhodes on May 19, 2008

The days of HAVING to read for the summer are gone (unless you're in summer school!), but the days of GETTING to read for the summer are here!  Why not pick up a good book this summer and purpose to grow in your relationship with Christ?  Here are a few suggestions as to WHAT you should read:

1.  Start with the RUF Summer Reader (a collection of articles) found on our website under "Resources"
2.  J.I. Packer, Knowing God.  Simply a life-changing classic!
3.  C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity.  Classic Lewis, thought provoking.
4.  Jerry Bridges, The Disciplines of Grace.  If you have questions about how to live the Christian life, read.
5.  Paul Tripp, Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands.  If you want to minister to others, read.

Just a few suggestions.  Why not pick one, and work through it when you have a little bit of time?  There is not much better than laying in the sun by the pool, with an ice cold drink in one hand, and a good book in the other.
