This is the time of the year where I get an itch to read a good biography.  Two years ago it was Peter Brown's biography of Augustine (long, but great).  I can't remember last year's honestly?  This year it is T.H.L. Parker's biography of Calvin.  After a slow start so far (early years...yaaawwn), the middle chapters are fascinating, as Parker gives brilliant summaries of Calvin's writings and theology.  Well worth the read so far!  Well worth reading biographies, too, as they seem to refresh and inspire godly living.
